Two styles of magnetic snaps are available - standard and sew-in.
The standard snaps are visible on the outside of the purse fabric. The "legs" pierce the fabric and are bent back to secure the snap firmly in place.
The sew-in snaps are "hidden" inside the handbag. They are often stitched to the wrong side of the purse lining prior to assembly and will not be visible when the bag is complete. Sew-in snaps give a very professional look to your project but are quite strong and should not come in contact with credit cards, etc.
