| Sewphisti-Cat Designs has taken the traditional, easy-going hobo a couple of steps further. A typical hobo bag is much like a bucket with a strap so whatever you carry just naturally falls to the bottom in a jumbled mess. That means you're always searching and digging. But no longer - Sewphisti-Cat has put some real organization into this hobo's life and into your's too! We have designed our "Jennifer" to provide lots of easy organization which translates into pockets, pockets, and MORE POCKETS!
"Jennifer's Bag" is actually a "bag within a bag" so start by making two separate bags. Each has a long side extension which will become one-half of the handle. First, you position one bag (the "inner" purse) so its handle extension is on the left. Insert it into the second bag (the "outer" purse) which has its handle extension at the right. Once everything is nicely in place, you will join the left and right extensions at the top and your handle is complete! (It's easier to understand the "bag within a bag" and the "handle joining" process by studying in the sample bags as each has been made using two different fabrics to create a "ying and yang" effect. )
The four fully-lined exterior pockets are formed with four vertical lines of stitching made through all the layers of both bags (with the exception of the inner bag's lining). You stitch over the left and right side seams and then from top to bottom at the center front and back. Just like magic, you then have four roomy and accessible pockets perfect for stowing your cell phone, keys, etc. right at your fingertips. Also, the interior of the "inner" bag has wall-to-wall with customizable compartments. We warned you...pockets, pockets, and MORE POCKETS. You just can't have organization without pockets!
